Why Dreams Are Important

The following information on Why Dreams are Important will help you see the scope and far reaching impact dreams have on our life. If you read this and ask how and why....you are ready to find answers to this night theater.

The Basic Tool Kit for Working on your Dreams

1. ALL dreams speak a universal language and come in the service of health and wholeness. "Bad" dreams sometimes take a negative form in order to get our attention

2. Only the dreamer can say with any certainty what meanings their dreams have. This certainty usually comes in the form of an "aha" of recognition. This "aha" is a function of memory and is the only reliable touchstone of dream work

3. There is no such thing as a dream with only one meaning. All dreams have multiple meanings and layers of significance.

4. No dream come just to tell you what you already know. All dreams break new ground and invite you to new understandings and insight.

5. When talking to others about their dreams, it is both wise and polite to preface your remarks with words like "if it were my dream..." and to keep the commentary in the first person. Much like "walking a mile in your neighbor's moccasins" when we take on someone else's dream, we also can gain new personal insights.

Candace Pert

It is with great sadness that the family of Candace Pert announces her death on September 12, 2013, suddenly and unexpectedly, while at her home in Maryland. Candace’s warmth and compassion, her laughter, authenticity, just the way she could light up a room and touch all in it will be forever missed, but forever remembered by anyone who had the fortune to meet her in person or read her books.
